Ford's big announcement in the Windy City this afternoon was its new Transit Connect mini cargo van. Although the vehicle has been around in Europe since 2003, Ford has decided that American small businesses could make use of the Transit Connect's 143 cubic feet of storage space (enough space to hold 45 cases of wine), side sliding doors, and 270-degree opening rear doors.
Local Chicago businesses, including My Chef Catering and Schaefer's wine shop were given Transit Connect's to outfit for their transportation needs.
Lucky for us, the press conference quickly disintegrated into a food-and-drink-laden party...

Wow, I'm glad they're bringing over the Ford eurocar that everyone really wants. Good job Ford.

I'd like it for motorcycle hauling!

This was introduced SIX years ago in Europe.
Just what Ford needs in the US, more outdated designs, why not bring back the Pinto!
Maybe if it had the diesel I'd like it.
Ford left the best part in Europe, now this thing is just a Turkey.

"why not bring back the Pinto!" - Isn't the Fiesta heading our way?

The new Fiesta looks great, IMHO.
This looks like it would be useful and affordable for small businesses.

I'm surprised they didn't put the chrome three bar grille on it. It should no doubt be practical though and the on-board computer system is a great idea.
