What?
Straightline
is covering the New Delhi Auto Show? Well, sort of, as Edmunds
AutoObserver
will be there, and as such,
Straightline
will be shadowing Paris-based
AutoObserver
correspondent Nick Kurczewski, and passing on anything that might be of interest.
Some teaser tidbits
Chrysler and Mahindra & Mahindra are in discussions of some sort...
Hmmm... Tata, who is hoping to land Land Rover and Jaguar, will introducing a $2,500 car (no misprint) for the home market. And let's not forget that India, like China, is making an effort to offer cars for sale here sometime in the future. Lastly, India is currently the 11th largest car market in the world, and could be as high as number seven by 2016; so don't be surprised if some big news were to come from this show.

India needs to advance rapidly. Otherwise they'll be overshadowed by China.
I'd imagine a heavily industrialized India will wreak havoc on the environment, though.
