Here's the answer to the question that nobody asked.
It would be funny to see the door open when the car's covered with 6 inches of new fluffy snow. That would dump a nice pile of snow onto the seats.

I miss that car, I hate that Lincoln never brought a proper replacement for it. It still looks amazing even today.

It's a cool idea, but I'd have to see more applications. Also, it would only be useful on coupes. I have doubts that you'd have the ground clearance on a MCS or a Civic Si.

I think it's a cool idea, but I don't see it ever being more that a cool "mod" for show cars... maybe a supper car but it seems that it would add a lot of weight.
On the web site they address the issue of ground clearance and touch on emergency exits.

At first I though this is a ridisoulous idea, but thinking about is, this is smart. No swing out doors smashing fingers or being taken off by oncoming traffic. no heavy door to swing back on you. The length of the door can be widened, with out being a burden in parking lots. Great idea! This wil probably be an aftermarket thing at first, but if it gets popular, makers will gradually add this to their products.
I hate that Lincoln. It is ugly, and no match for the Eldorado of its time.
