Finally, after endless hype surrounding the 2009 Chevrolet Camaro, we finally have some good spy photos of a couiple test mules. This group of Camaro prototypes was spotted just outside Melbourne, Australia. They were accompanied by a couple Mustangs as well, so GM obviously knows what market niche it needs to hit. The 2009 Chevrolet Camaro will go on sale in early 2009 followed by a Camaro Convertible in later 2009...

All that camo seems fairly pointless, given the intent to stay as close as possible to the concept (and the 'Bumblebee' car). If we hadn't already seen what it's going to look like, the camo'd be doing a good job though- it makes what is a sharp vehicle look spectacularly tacky!

I wish you guys would get it straight. Its a 2010 Camaro, not a 2009. (Even though it will be released in 2009.) Hopefully that's just tape on the b-pillar and it won't look so bad when all is said and done. I can't wait to see it minus the camo.

It seems to be common knowledge that the car will be introduced as a 2010 when it hits the showrooms in early '09. Edumnds even says so!

I imagine an engineering car will do stupid things, have bugs, and something completely dumb will happen to it on the road, such as breaking down.
Camo would be good to dissociate these negative events from the production car.

Cant they make this any faster? Dodge has productin pictures and pricing on the Challenger, and the Camaro is still in the testing phase. A lot of excitement about this car is probably going to die when it does come out.

Mustang really enjoyed this niche all to itself for several years, by the time the Challenger and Camaro arrive gas will be $4 a gallon and this entire segment will be smaller than it is now.
