Toyota and Fuji Heavy Industries consider more tie-ups

Earlier this week word spread that Fuji Heavy Industries (Subaru) would build larger cars for Daihatsu, which is a subsiduary of Toyota. Now this story indicates that the Subaru and Toyota relationship could expand even further. Subaru needs a vehicle in the 1.0L - 1.5L range, and this is an area in which Toyota might be able to help Subaru.

"We're considering a variety of tie-ups to offer advantages to the Toyota group," Ikuo Mori, Toyota's president said at a press conference Wednesday for the auto maker's earnings for the first fiscal half...
He noted that no concrete plans have been set.
