Carmakers have discovered that safety sells, as there are now 34 '08 models that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety have picked as their 2008 Top Safety Pick award winners. This is up from 23 models last year. Of some surprise were some of the vehicles that did not make the list. Big winners this year were Ford and Honda...

Wow, just 3 Volvos? They must not be the safety-inspired company they used to be. Oh, that's right. They're a "premium luxury" brand now.

I guess Honda made SAC standard on the Element? Without them side protection was poor.
