I'd like it if my daughter could reach the door handles on the rear doors.
13mpg? Never mind.

And on top of the 13 mpg, it's only 0.4 seconds quicker to 60 than the V6.

*sigh* I miss the old Pathfinders from the 80's.

13 mpg is a pretty low figure, and it's going be this car's Achilles heel. I mean thats lower than many fullsize trucks and SUVs. Besides given how good vehicles like the CX-9 and Outlook/Acadia are, I doubt anyone will care about the Pathfinder. I would get an Acadia for sure over this.

Having a Frontier myself, I'm a fan of the Pathfinder and Xterra too. They have a pretty strong V6; what more do you need? This 5.6 is a sweet engine but it is totally unnecessary in a Pathfinder - bonehead, potential negative PR move.

The 5.6 in the Pathfinder isn't even E85-capable as it is in the Armada and Titan. I'd like to see a smaller, more efficient engine as an option in the Xterra and Pathfinder. The QR25DE in the Frontier isn't strong or efficient enough to justify its use compared to the VQ40DE, but a smaller than four liter V6 or a diesel would be nice.

"Besides given how good vehicles like the CX-9 and Outlook/Acadia are, I doubt anyone will care about the Pathfinder"
You can't really compare the Pathfinder to the Acadia or CX-9. The Pathfinder is a truck and the other 2 are minivans. They don't have to meet the same towing or off road ability as a real truck.
A better question is why should I buy a Pathfinder over a Yukon/ Tahoe? The GM seems like a better truck and it even gets much better mileage.

I've always liked this generation of Pathfinder. I've driven the 4.0L version, and that has plenty of power. I see no need for the V8, frankly.

How could you compare this piece of junk to an Explorer, which seats 3 rows of adults?
I can barely fit in its narrow , short front seats. Second row, forget about it. 3rd row? Cats or smaller.
Vehicle is only wide enough for 2 miniature men across in 2nd row. Too narrow to fit 3 people.
Gas mileage of caveman engineering.
Trash this and build a worthy 3-row crossover.
Middle East customers stick to the Nissan Patrol and Toyota Land Cruiser.
-20 stars out of 5 for the useless Pathfinder.

Narrow front seats? ROTFLMAO! How big of seats would you like to have?

Have you seen the third row on the Explorer??? I wouldn't say it's much bigger than this. I wouldn't say they're that different except for the max cargo capacity (which is actually bigger in the Pathfinder). Maybe you're thinking of the Expedition.

billt9 here's my point. For those people who dont tow or go offroad the Pathfinder makes no sense compared to the CX-9 and Acadia. If towing and offroading are important I guess the Pathfinder is a good way to go, but you really pay for it at the pump.
Why buy a Pathfinder over a Yukon/Tahoe? Because the Pathfinder is much cheaper and it go offroad.
rsholland says:

The next generation Pathfinder I believe is going to a unit-frame body, like the Grand Cherokee. Actually the previous Pathfinder was also built that way, but switched back to a body-on-frame- design this time.
I like the Tahoe, except for its miserable third row seat which has to be removed if you want any really good hauling space. For me, that's a deal-killer. But, even so, the Tahoe really competes with the Armada, and not the Pathfinder.

carboy28, get in the vehicle.
42.4"+34.2"+28.1" = 104.7"
42.4"+36.9"+34.9" = 114.2"
Get in the vehicle and you will know there is no comparison.
Ford even actively touts the Explorer's 3 row adult seats, because the seats are that good.
It's the one great thing the Explorer has over all its competition.
You will have nothing to say once you get in the vehicles.
You will know what 2.7" means. (It means 68.58 mm! =D)
If you want to tow, buy a 2008 Ford Explorer.
If you want a comfortable, spacious jacked up car, buy a 2008 Nissan Murano.
The 2008 Nissan Murano offers more bling, more passenger space, more cargo space, and far superior fuel economy than the Pathfinder.
At 81.6 cubic feet of cargo volume, the Nissan Murano offers more usable space than a Chevy Trailblazer, or a Nissan Pathfinder; almost equaling what the Explorer offers.
Now currently on clearance sale!

It is quite obvious none of you have driven the new V8 Pathfinder. I have driven both the Explorer and Pathfinder and this year Nissan got it right. It outclasses the Explorer in every competitive area. If you are basing your comments on the mileage ... get over it. The Nissans engine is much bigger (1.0L) and powerful .... what do you expect!!?? It also tows more, is much cheaper, and from a performance standpoint out performs the Explorer in every category.
