The Z06 Corvette been given the honor of being the pace car for the upcoming 2008 Daytona 500 this February. This is the 50th running of the event, and as such, the car is adorned with special red, blue and white graphic to set off the gold paint. Best news of all is that 50 such cars will be made available to race car fans,
For those living under a rock, the Z06 is powered by a 505 horsepower super-motor, and is regarded the King Kong of all Corvettes.

What an awesome looking pace car for what should be an awesome race, provided the CoT doesnt suck away the fun of it. I hope Junior in the #88 wins!
And wait, don't you mean Corvette Z06, not ZR6?

Well now there's a pace car edition you won't ever find on dealer's lots, I hope.

I'm with you stovt.....I like this Z06 as a pace car but not as a special edition road car. I have never understood the appeal of the pace cars that make it to the street complete with all the decals. Make 50 special edition cars in one color, with some unique options or option package, with a couple of small badges and maybe a numbered plaque under the hood at most. I'd drive something like what's shown above for a day....maybe.

Lol, I'd drive that everyday if I could, because it's unique! It's not like all the other red or yellow or blue Corvettes you see.
But anyway, looking at my user name, I think you can figure out why I like it.
