Ford has just announced a new F-350-and-a-half, otherwise known as a F-350 Fat Boy. What they've done is taken your basic F-350 LWB 4x4 dually crew cab and added the larger (wider!) front axle, suspension and fender flares from the F-450and voilà ! "Fat Boy!"
Besides the more butch looks, you get an increased GVW, up from 11,500 to 13,000. This GVW (and payload) increase splits the difference between that of the standard F-350 and the F-450...
The Fat Boy option is only available on F-350 crew cab 4x4 duallys with a 172" wheelbase and an 8' bed, and will set you back $470.

UPDATE: Latest word from Ford is that the payload and towing are the same as the current F-350. The main advantage to the Fat Boy option is the tighter turning circle.

That's damn cheap an option. Why not get it? Also, why not just call it the F-400?

is there a reason not to get it?

I live in central Ky, horse capital of the world, and I see a ton of these things daily.

The extra width may mean it won't fit in some garages, but I doubt owners will care much.
I was just thinking of reasons why you would not want the extra width.

If it doesn't fit in garages, it's because of the rear dually and not the wider front axle, as that is wider than the front.

I'm sure they're calling it 'Fat Boy' because of the Harley Fat Boy moto-sickle and Ford and Harley have tie-ins.
