2007 Tokyo Auto Show: Honda Puyo Concept

What would a Honda press conference be without an Asimo appearance? Well, for one, it would be shorter, since they wouldn’t spend the first five minutes showing off his latest moves. Today Asimo displayed his newfound ability to run. Actually, it’s more like a fast awkward walk, but it’s still impressive for a bucket of bolts...
Asimo then cleared the stage for Honda’s newest oddity, the Puyo concept. It drove onto the stage with Honda CEO Takeo Fukui riding shotgun. After an awkward moment of fumbling for the door handle, Fukui emerged from the gelatin-covered bubble with a big smile and some kind words. Turns out, Honda built the Puyo for no other reason than to show that cars can be more than just metal and glass. They can have emotions and personalities that make their owners happy even when they’re not driving them. Interesting concept. -- Ed Hellwig, Senior Editor, Inside Line
