What would a Honda press conference be without an Asimo appearance? Well, for one, it would be shorter, since they wouldnât spend the first five minutes showing off his latest moves. Today Asimo displayed his newfound ability to run. Actually, itâs more like a fast awkward walk, but itâs still impressive for a bucket of bolts...
Asimo then cleared the stage for Hondaâs newest oddity, the Puyo concept. It drove onto the stage with Honda CEO Takeo Fukui riding shotgun. After an awkward moment of fumbling for the door handle, Fukui emerged from the gelatin-covered bubble with a big smile and some kind words. Turns out, Honda built the Puyo for no other reason than to show that cars can be more than just metal and glass. They can have emotions and personalities that make their owners happy even when theyâre not driving them. Interesting concept.
