At a show known for its cars' subtlety and restraint, here are a few of my favorites so far.
The SL600, never known for being conspicuous, has here been even further attenuated by the infamous Bedazzler and 400 pounds of rhinestones. Fabulous.
And here's a ride sure to slide past your local constabulary completely unnoticed.
I'm told this 1965 Mini Cooper's two turbocharged Honda B-series engines make 500 horsepower. Each. Equal moderation was practiced inside.
And what could possibly be better than a television in place of the license plate? Think of the possibilities!
In the Ford booth I found this biodiesel/hydrogen-powered F450 Super Duty crew cab 4x4. It was so earth-friendly I couldn't fit the entire truck in the photo.
In its bed reside two hydrogen pressure vessels. What makes this truck a hybrid?
And it wouldn't be SEMA without some big wheels on a donk.
These happen to be an inconspicuous 30 inches in diameter.

Rather, what makes that hybrid a truck?

That last one makes me weep. I'll take it. I can fix it. I can make it better and I'll love it and cherish it forever.

Oh what have they done to that Skylark -- turned it into a Conestoga wagon? I'd love to have it -- with proper wheels of course.

That ghastly SL600 was in Kentia Hall at the LA Auto Show last November. And perhaps the year before.

Woops...I got so excited reading the SEMA posts, I didn't realize this was from 2007 lol.
