2007 SEMA Show: Is this the production FJ Cruiser convertible?

A Toyota FJ Cruiser convertible is nothing new. There was one on Toyota's stand last year , and plenty of others built by aftermarket companies since then. This FJ is a little different though. Its convertible top was built by Bestop, the same company that builds the soft tops for Jeep Wranglers...
According to Keijo Huotari, Bestop's director of engineering, this FJ's top was designed like a production-ready piece of hardware. "It's a simple manual top that's cost-effective and well-integrated into the original design. It's also compact, so it doesn't take up much room in back when it's folded." In other words, this FJ is more than just a SEMA show car; it's headed for showrooms. We say it's about time.

And by the way, the guy underneath the FJ is putting the finishing touches on a chassis camera that gives you a view of the front suspension so you can spot yourself when traversing big boulders. -- Ed Hellwig, Lead Senior Editor

This top looks like it will be just as convenient/inconvenient as the Wrangler. You'll need to unzip and remove the side windows and rear window, then deal with the top. I doubt that it is electrically actuated.

Def. manual top, desmo.

Visibility actually seems better here than in the hard top, which is a breath of fresh air.

Pun intended. ;-)

How much? Looks good to me.

That brown top doesnt really match, I'd rather see white or black or yellow. But I do love the tires, they're really chunky.
