We're happy to report that the Pontiac G8 GT looks substantially similar to the Holden Commodore SS we tested in Australia. And that's a good thing.
Interest in the car seems quite high. We gave up trying to take a clear shot...

I love the BMW inspired profile but dislike the Ponitac add ons like the hood scoops. Ill take a G8 GT V8, black on black, 6MT, leather, sunroof, premium sound, 18 inch wheels, with NO scoops, vents, or extra body work.

I think Pontiac showed excellent restraint in the scoops and vents, and overall I think it looks beautiful. Of course, Pontiacs are supposed to have the scoops, vents, and extra body work, which appeals to some people, but not others. Perhaps the next Impala, or maybe a Buick, will be similar to the G8 with more conservative styling for people with the same taste a HA4. My only problem with the G8 is its size, as I have no need for a full size sedan at this point in my life. If they made something just like the G8, but closer in size to the G6 for a little less money with better fuel economy, it would be exactly what I was looking for.

The wheels remind me of those on the Altima SE-R.

The wheels are 20" HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) wheels from the Holden Commodore option list. I don't think they will be available - not at first, anyway.

I second hondacura4 completely: please, please lose the hood scoops. The restrained-yet-muscular/purposeful styling of the Holden did remind me of the Germans (in a good way), and I think that formula, NOT the Pontiac bling-bling add-ons, is what might appeal to the typical buyer putting his money towards a BMW, Audi, etc.

I think it looks great.
Delete the nuclear orange color and the clear tails and you have a handsome sedan, even with the hood scoops.

Stov, the G8 isnt that big of a car. Its about the size of a BMW 5 Series!

Unfortunately, I've never been a big fan of Pontiac styling, but, that's just me. I also don't car for naming all the Pontiac cars "G" something. It's nearly as bad as the alphabet soup that Lincoln uses. This car should, however, be a vast improvement over the current Grand Prix
