UAW/GM agreement: A template for success or failure?

Not all the details of this new potentially landmark agreement have been announced to the public yet, as union leaders now have to present it —and SELL it!—to their membership. That will likely occur over the weekend. Then we will know if this is a done-deal or not.

Assuming the GM union members do fall in line behind their leadership, then this agreement will be used as a template for both Ford and Chrysler, which are next in line...
It's assumed that negotiations with these two remaining domestic auto giants will go much smoother, as the hard work has already been done. One thing is for sure, whatever is agreed upon will likely spell success or failure for the domestic auto industry. Let's hope and pray they get it right.

A divorce is coming. If you think this new agreement released pressure, you're wrong. This only strains their bonds more.
