Toyota debuts Aussie Land Cruiser

has a write up on the all-new 5.7L Toyota Land Cruiser, which if you're a loyal follower of Straightline , should be no surprise, as it's been posted here several times over the last year or so in various spy shots. The vehicle just debuted at the Sydney auto show this week.

Not mentioned is the fact that the Aussie-spec Land Cruiser is also available with Toyota's new 4.5 V8 diesel along with the Toyota 6-speed automatic, which is described here . Now if that diesel fits in the Land Cruiser, you can bet it will also fit in the Tundra...

is this part of toyota's drive to increase its fuel economy?
 
Or like one of their newer suv commericals, where they claim they are a fuel efficent company, yet make no mention what the huge suv thats in the ad uses in gas.

The Land Cruiser plays a very small role in US Toyota sales. It's mainly used in other markets where its capabilities are put to good use.

The outgoing gas V8 wasn't a particularly clean engine in terms of emissions, this one is actually much better.

Probably for this model, yes. They still offer the LC70 with a solid axle.

The catch: You need to move to Oz, or another market in which is sold. ;)
