Arguably one of the most successful automotive product lines ever, the Ford F-Series, is now 60 years old. The vehicles debuted back early in 1948 as the F-1, F-2, F-3, etc.; and the F-1 evolved into the F-100, which then in turn evolved into the F-150; as did the F-2, et al.
So Ford will be offering a special commemorative version of of F-Series pickups, which will have special badging, trim pieces and two-tone paint. The vehicles will be announced at the Texas State Fair...
Finally, as a footnote, this is a classic case of why auto manufacturers should think twice or three times about ditching the names of any given model line, as you just can't buy brand and /or model equity by constantly changing model namesand this is key to the long term success of any product.

I'd love to see a photo of that old red F model pulling a 2008 model. Anyone good with Photoshop?

Funny that Ford, of all corporations, is noted for keeping the F-Series name. This after dumping Taurus, Escort, Econoline, Windstar, Aerostar, Tempo, Continental, Sable, Mark [fill in blank], Bronco...and that's all in the past 15 years!

Glad they kept the F-series name, as you said roar they have dropped many long running names because they were too lazy to improve the product, so when it came time to redesign, they just threw in a new name to make it fresh.
