Gilera GP 800: the world's first 840cc scooter

WHAT? An eight-hundred-and-forty-cubic-centimeter scooter?

Did these Gilera guys force-feed some super-bike steroid-like computer virus into their scooter engineering software? Good grief, 840 cc used be the neighborhood in which the 2-wheeled crotch-rockets used to live...
Heck, even the bad-boy Harley Sportster was only 43 cc larger at 883cc.

Yessiree, it looks like a paradigm shift is about to occur in the scooter market. ...And with that thought in mind, might this Gilera GP 800 make for the perfect cop bike, er, scooter?

This is barely a 'step-thru' design, so I'm having a hard time classifying this as a scooter. Still nice looking, though, but not sure if the limited space and step-over-thru design is going to be compelling to prospective scooter shoppers.

It's a mix between the two. Those wheels are too small to call it a motorcycle.

The world's first 2 wheel crossover, folks. LOL

I don't see the point of this over a motorcycle.
