Custer electric microcar



Prior to the SMART, there were a lot of microcars, and here's one from the 1920s. For a link to a list of on microcars from a bygone era, click here .

According to one of the posters on this site , she was driving driving an electric battery-powered "Custer Car," which was invented by Levitt Custer. Apparently it was a popular amusement-park ride back in the '20s...
Here's a link on Custer Cars, and yet another showing Custer Cars from 1937.

Imagine... an "eco-clean" electric car from the 1920s! ...And no, that's not Meg Ryan's grandmother.

Looks more like a toy pedal car.
 
Auto makers would be wise to avoid making their cars look like toys. Imagine a crash test in something that small. Just get a motorcycle.

It's amazing how far we've come in just 60 years. What's even more amazing is the fact that most of the greatest leaps in technology have only happened in the past 30 years or so.

imagine how that would fair in modern times with vechicles such as SUVs and semi trucks on americas roads but It shows how automotive technology has greatly advanced in recent times
