China set to produce 9 million cars this year

Last year China churned out 7.2 million cars, and this year they're predicting 9 million cars will be built. This is from a country that not so long ago was still using farm animals, wagons and walking as the primary means of transportation. Impressive, but I'll be more impressed when they can build one great car. I'd even settle for "safe".

In what aspect these cars are not "great"? People buy less expensive things that they can afford.
