Long-Term Test: 2007 Honda Civic GX

2007 Honda Civic GX

We've added a Honda Civic GX to our long-term fleet. It runs on compressed natural gas (CNG).

We want to see if it really saves us any money and what kind of compromises we'll have to make to try to save the environment.

We have a CNG station near our offices in Santa Monica, but they are few and far between...

So we're also planning to install a PHILL home refueling unit, which should be a little more convenient and reduce the price of natural gas.

I'm really glad to see this get added to the fleet. I've been very curious how these things perform. I also just happen to think CNG is a viable alternative.

They are quite popular in Brazil, in fact many taxi fleets run on CNG because of the low cost of the fuel.
