With the cat-back exhaust, I doubt this vehicle is emissions legal (at least in Cal-ee-furn-ya). That being said, how are Mazda dealerships allowed to sell these?

Looking at the performance gains, I have a feeling that a stock Mazdaspeed3 could match them with just the change to stickier tyres.

I'm also highly disappointed with the performance gains. After $5k of upgrades, not to mention that these upgrades disable the Mazda Torque Management System, I'd expect more than an 0.2 s gain from 0 to 60 mph! I'd rather use part of the money to upgrade the stereo and use the remainder for something else......

Suby, expect an e-mail about CAIs soon. :)

Regarding the 0-60 mph gain, I would think part of the torque management to reduce torque steer in 1st and 2nd gears may have been a factor (Note: I don't know if it was enabled or disabled). Like others, I was surprised that the improvement in handling was marginal.

Kwaku, if the CAI question for your Protege5, you're better off e-mailing Rex first!

Those fogs look kind of wild, is that stock or accessory?

The fogs are stock I believe. For some reason the wheels on this version actually look smaller than those on the stock version of the car. Maybe it's just the design...

The MS3 is already a good pckg. limited by not having AWD. Toyota has the same thing with TRD for the Scion TC. You are not going to get a whole lot with these add ons. They miss one item that they could do. Upgrade the Turbo and larger intercooler up-front but no warranty! They have done it and works fine. The torque managment still there I do believe. Want more power and grip get a WRX-STi or EVO-IX.
