Expensive cars = expensive body repair bills

I guess this really shouldn't be too much of a surprise: Expensive cars are expensive to repair, especially if you've been in accident. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety states that many of these cars have weak bumpers. Not only that but many premium cars have warning sensors in their bumpers and other expensive gizmos near the front and rear of the vehicle that lesser cars might not have.

My Father drives a Jaguar XJR, and trust me, it is not cheap to fix an aluminum bodied car. He had a small fender bender.....$4000 worth of damage. That's carzy.

Interesting also to see that the Infiniti costs more than double to fix than the BMW.

Ive always heard that IS300's and GS300/400's were exspensive to fix thats why they cost a bit more to insure.

Not just the aluminum bodies, but also the HID lights, LED tails, all that stuff can break even in a small fender bender.
 
Especially when today's bumpers are not really built to take anything more than a 5mph tap.

That's why most high-priced cars are leased these days. It's also why resale value takes such a significant nosedive once the warranty runs out.
