Asian pickup news

Pickup.com is reporting that the previously rumored Hyundai and Kia pickups are either on hold or have been canceled.

On the other hand the Mahindra pickup from India has been green-lighted. Mahindra & Mahindra plans to start importing them by early 2009, and it will be priced below any pickup in the market, and that includes the 25% tarrif for imported trucks.

Can't wait to see how poorly these will perform in crash tests.
 
At least this will bring back the compact pickup.
