We've seen interior spy shots of the 2009 Hyundai Genesis sedan before, but our latest pic shows the first evidence of an iDrive-like device for Hyundai's luxury sedan. From what we can tell, the system is actually closer to Audi's MMI system with hard buttons surrounding the main control knob. This is good news as Audi's system has proven far easier to use than BMW's clumsy setup. The rest of the interior appears to have a few minor changes, but overall it's a nicely laid out cabin that looks sufficiently upscale to warrant a premium price...

Is it me or does Hyundai seem to plagurize other Manufacturer's styling. The Genesis concept is clearly a combination of Infiniti M35/45 and G35 styling. Looking at the interior, it seems as though the designers spent a lot of time in the M35/45. Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery so kudos to the folks at Nissan. On another note, looking at Hyundai and Kia's lineup there isn't one original design. Until Hyundai/Kia can come up with something original, I can never take them seriously.

I would consider many Hyundai/Kia products to be original. There entire line of SUVs is pretty original. The Azera and Sonata are both genuine Hyundai products.
There is crossover, yes. But it's not limited to the Koreans.
I'm not sure how I feel about the MMI knob. I'm kinda old fashion like that.

of all the things Hyundai could copy or rip off why the nightmarish IDrive from BMW folks looks like the Idrive or in this case a twisted clone of it is back from the grave to make our driving experience crap once again

If it makes you feel any better, there's a touch of Kia Rio/Hyundai Accent in the dash contour, too.

Gimme a touch screen any day.
i think it looks good, though it does remind me of the M45.

Wow, its amazing that Hyundai has gotten to the level where they are offering iDrive like technology in their cars. Unbelievable how they have reached the level they are yet today. The Genesis is to me one of the most anticipated vehicles for 2008 (along with Ford Flex, the Super Corvette, and the Evo X).

Really nice interior.....I am glad the LCD/touch screen looks bigger than the one in previous spy shots.......The previous pics didn't have any controls on the console and all the controls were jammed in the dashboard.......
I want to see how the gauges look.......I am not fond of hyundai's gauge design (Sonata, Veracruz)

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Besides, you can drive around in your M45 clone for...what? 60% of the price?
As for the MMI interface; people grumbled about touchtone phones when they came out. Now you can't find a phone with an actual dial on it outside your local antique shop.

FINALLY A NAV SYSTEM! HYUNDAI IS REALLY LATE TO THE GAME WITH THE TECHNOLOGY. PEOPLE STATE ITS IMITATION BUT ITS LIKE TAKING GREAT DESIGNS AND IDEAS AND MAKING THEM MORE EFFICIENT AND FUNCTUAL. EVERY AUTO MAKER SOMEHOW COPIES AND USE THOSE IDEAS AND CREATE SOMETHING PHENOMENAL AND PLEASING. THE SIMILAR KNOB LIKE THE iDRIVE BMW'S IS NOT ATTRACTIVE. THAT CONTROL IS PAINSTAKING AND TAKING A BAD INNOVATION AND USING IT IN ONE OF YOUR PRODUCT DOESN'T MAKE THE CAR MORE APPEALING. BUT KNOWING HOW HYUNDAI REALLY DO STUDY THE EGRONOMICS, THEY ARE SURE TO BE ON THE RIGHT PATH ON CREATING AN ASTONISHING FLAGSHIP. STILL AMAZES ME HOW HYUNDAI IS ON THE LIST OF MOST ANTICIPATED FUTURE CARS, JUST SHOWS US HOW HARD THE COMPANY HAS BEEN WORKING. I'M HOPING THE EXTERIOR IS AS GOOD AS THE CABIN. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE FORCE.
