Porsche releases more info on Cayenne hybrid

A few days ago Straightline ran a story on the upcoming Porsche Cayenne hybrid (Porsche Cayenne hybrid to use 1/3 less fuel). Now, thanks to Jalopnik, we have more info on the vehicle. According to Porsche, the Cayenne hybrid will be off-road capable. Now that may not mean much to US customers, but outside our borders (Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia) this is important, as these vehicles do go off road. Also—and perhaps more important—this same system will be used on the VW Touareg hybrid, which will definitely be used more off road worldwide.

I don't even want to think about how heavy this vehicle will be. I don't see how they're going to meet the efficiency goals they are promising.

Porsche isn't exactly a leader in innovative technology. I, too, doubt the validity of Porsche's claim.

c'mon! The 959 was years ahead of the competition. IIRC the hollow spoke rims allowed tyre pressure to be adjusted from inside the cabin.
But, that's all I got.

Ok, I'll give you the 959. I love the 959. I wish they'd reincarnate the thing.
