We've all heard of cookies and other things laced with pot. Well now you can add cars to the list. Actually this is not the first time that hemp was used in a car, or by Ford. Back in 1941 Ford experimented with cannabisin building cars, that is...
Apparently a deal was struck by UKâs Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), Ford UK and Hemcore, which is a company that grows cannabis plants. They're hoping to develop a recyclable vehicle using cannabis.
The cannabis fibers will be blended with polypropylene which will result in a mixture that can be molded into body parts. Not only are the hemp-based materials fully recyclable, they also have high strength and stiffness, low raw material and energy costs. In addition they are lighter than other materials, which could result in up to a 220 lb savings in vehicle weight.

Wow, Ford might be doing something innovative and practical!
It may even increase their profits! I mean...lower their losses!
