Ford's Mark Fields says Volvo's not for sale

With all the rumors and speculation going on about Ford's Premier Automotive Group (PAG), Mark Fields, Ford's president of the Americas has stepped up and said: "Volvo is pretty integrated into Ford right now." So that pretty much says "no deal" to me.

When you think about it, this really makes the most sense. Of all the PAG brands, Volvo is the one that's most closely tied to current and future Ford products. As a result, the Taurus has earned a "Top Safety Pick" from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Besides, unlike Jaguar and Land Rover, Volvo is doing well. So why sell it?

Yeah I pretty much call the original claims of a Volvo sale as bogus. It would be one of the stupidest moves Ford has ever made.
