The Pontiac G8 and Chevrolet Camaro won't be the only Aussie-built, Zeta-platform models heading Stateside. This 412-hp rear-wheel drive HSV Grange could be the 2010 Chevy Impala SS.

As the interest in smaller cars increases....so does the size of GM's vehicles.

The proportions and wanna-be Audi A8L styling are wonderful on this car. I never thought Id say this but if this car holds up well for 70K miles or so I could possibly have one in my driveway as Im in need for a (fun) sedan.
Im comparing the drivetrain to the current CTS-V since they will be simular. Both CTS-Vs I drove jerked and had tremendous backlash in the driveline. One had 42K and the other had right at 50K. Definately not acceptable in this type of car. Refinement is important to some of us GM.

With this car, who needs a premium badge? or make yourselves look germans?

I can see this V8 having DoD. Efficiency would be reasonable, at least.

I've been eagerly awaiting these Australian cars in the states for years. I can only applaud what GM has done with the styling and power of the cars, to say nothing of their presence on the road. It's great stuff.
Though it would be nice to see some of the smaller ones (Commodore) with smaller DOHC V8s...nah, never gonna happen.
Still though, I think that the Holden Caprice would be a great Impala, if nothing else the larger proportions would serve to differentiate it from the Pontiac G8.

This car is already on sale here in the Middle East as the Chevy Caprice. There is also an SS option available here with the 360hp V8 that's going to the G8. This car looks great in SS form, nice interior, fat tires, aggressive stance, and limosine like room in the back. This is the car that Chevy really needs.
Now Ford needs to bring their Falcon XR6 here too.
