Spy shots: Latest photos of the 2009 Mercedes-Benz GLK

It won't be long now until we see the 2009 Mercedes-Benz GLK in production trim, but this prototype caught recently on the Nurburgring test track gives a pretty good idea of what it will look like. The GLK will match up with the BMW X3 is both size and price when it goes on sale late next year. And judging by the wheels and tires on this prototype, the GLK should come close to matching the X3 when it comes to performance as well. Built on a shared platform with the new C-Class sedan, the GLK is expected to use the same 3.5-liter V6 and seven speed transmission along with Mercedes' 4Matic all wheel drive system...

Looks good. It's boxier and should have a lot more cargo room than the X3 does. I like what I see so far.

I like it too - cool. I would hate to be the left front tire on that X3 though!

There is no doubt that M-B will sell as many of these puppies in N. America as they can send over to these shores. It looks very promising, and I would definitely be in the market if the final version keeps its slim look!

This new GLK will be a huge hit. It's a beautiful car well matched with the parts like Mercedes Benz Mirror which are astounded for car aficionados.
