Spy photos: First pictures of the 2008 Honda Accord sedan

After the recent spy photos of the 2008 Honda Accord coupe showed up, it wasn't too surprising when similar pictures of the 2008 Honda Accord sedan appeared. Like the coupe, the Honda Accord sedan was caught with minimal camouflage so nearly all of its exterior details are easy to make out. The Accord's conservative styling isn't much of a shock although we expected a sleeker looking four-door given the relatively attractive styling of the coupe. Expect to see this sedan debut along side the coupe this fall with sales beginning in the U.S. by the end of the year.

Its nice to finally see a new accord. The recent model change was a disaster giving the rear end an very ugly and chevy impala look. Hopefully there is a new designed interior because the old was getting pretty old. look out hyundai!

This thing is hideous. I don't understand how the coupe could come out so nicely styles and the sedan come out so off. The front end, I think is what does it for me. The hood is long and wide, which makes the car look disproportional when you look at the entire car. Those front lights are massive. And lastly, the styling is not just nothing to write home about but nothing new either. With the last Accord iteration, I gladly told my brother to buy one when he was looking for a car. In top line trim, with a spoiler, it looked very nice. When it was introduced, Honda said it was styled after a cheetah and in the front end you could see it... well sorta. This one looks so unorignal, it could be a 90s design they rehashed to save money.

IMO, its not that bad looking! It actually quite good. Always wait for the final product before you say the car is horrible looking. From the side, (3rd pic) it reminds me of the new lexus LS and the current TL mixed togather.

The car is silver and has camo tape. This car likes like it would be great to look at in nighthawk black. Hopefully rims don't look that small in person. This pic makes it look like the current accord has bigger rims.

Still, the current accord isn't all that bad looking anyways. I just hope that a 170hp 2.4l I-4 is under that hood... One exahaust pipe means that this isn't the v6. I think the v6 would be better looking.

Finally, I'm glad I'm single! I might actually get the accord coupe...

I'm a big Accord fan and I think this one looks nice. Reminds me of the BMW 5 series in the back. The disappointing thing though is that like they say, its not ground-breaking. It looks simple, something that could have come out in 2000. Hopefully they keep the LED brake lights, which made it look a bit advanced, but from the pics, it looks like they did not. Hopefully, when they take off the camouflage, it does not look as conservative either. After nearly 40 yrs on the market, we dont want it to end up the Buick of Japanese cars. But still, atleast it was not hideous like the 03 (I cried so hard!). No matter what, I have to stay loyal to Honda Accord, and buy this next one.

Looks like a Saturn.

I think the profile looks BMWesque.
The rims do indeed look pretty small, but I can't see them getting any bigger since the tires already fill the wheel well.
It's hard to judge the back, but (particularly with that tape) I see hints of a Hyundai Sonata.
The sedan really lost the coupe's trucklike front end. That's such a shame.
As for the taillights, I'm reminded of the 5th gen Accord. Not that there's any resemblance, but the fact that there are only 2 taillights instead of four. Like the 5th gen, I'm sure there'll be a mid-gen modification to include two more on the rear of the trunk.

Just when GM gets ready to come out with a true Accord fighting Malibu, Honda gets a new Accord. This ought to make a for a very good comparison test. Wonder of Honda will once again "trump" GM, although for what it's worth, the Malibu has always been a very good car and a very good value, just not stellar, making it a good choice for those that might be on a budget.

Looks like a Saturn, 5-series and Altima all smashed together...

Bad, really really bad...

DAMN! This thing is goin to kick the competition and just by looks. the old Accord is becoming on old person's car. Tgis is going to be a very family friendly sedan. Yay for Honda!

ROFL. I third the motion by the honorable desmolicious and the honorable louiswei- looks like a Saturn! And NOT a new model Saturn, so take it as you will what else I think about (what can be seen about the shape of) this styling..

It looks like the worst parts of a Saturn, BMW, Altima, Sonata, etc. all smashed together. I hope it is a much better car than its looks.

That's a tall greenhouse, countering the trend of the "chopped" look.

That tap along the side seems to hide the same character line the coupe got. I'm surprised they didn't save that for Acuras since the TL uses it.

Please take the tape off!

Agreed on the Saturn + 5-Series mesh.
