This year's Indy 500 was interrupted earlier with a 3-hour rain delay, and was ultimately forced to shut down again at the 415 mile point because of another rain shower...
The race was halted a number of times because of crashes, the most spectacular being that of Marco Andretti, who flipped his race car, landing upside down. Fortunately he was not injured.

I gotta admit, a rainsoaked Ashley Judd still gets my attention, too.
