Indy 2007: Another Honda lovefest

Every entry at this year's upcoming Indianapolis 500 is Honda-powered—and if I'm not mistaken, at last year's Indy, every car was Honda-powered too.

Does that bother you? It bothers me—and I'm a HUGE Honda fan! I know Honda makes great engines, but is there no other engine maker that can put forth an engine to at least be somewhat competitive?

Motorsport racing is equally about the vehicle and the driver/team...
Here at Indy the "vehicle aspect" is a non-event, as everyone will be driving the same car, so the vehicle aspect is lost. Borrrrrrrring...

I think for any one brand to dominate any motor sport is bad. You lose interest in the brand as well as the racing venue in question. Eventually the audience will tire of Indy, and the Indy racing series, if some new engineering blood doesn't get injected soon.

Same car, no, same powertrain, yes.

There's more than one chassis builder, at least.

I agree it would be better to have a little competition, though, to encourage Honda to push the envelope.

Not only was last year's Indy 500 solely powered by Honda, it was also the first and only year in which not a single entry had engine problems.
