Zetsche confirms what we all knew: Chrysler is indeed for sale

In a statement that surprised no one, Dieter Zetsche confirmed the fact that the Chrysler Group is on the selling block. This news came at the company's annual shareholder meeting.

“In this context, I can confirm that we are talking with some of the potential partners who have shown a clear interest,” Zetsche said. “But it is also true that we need to keep all options open and that I cannot disclose any details, because we need to have the maximum scope for maneuver.” He then added that the company’s management needs “the greatest possible flexibility so that we can identify and then professionally implement the best possible solution.”

We already knew it before Zetche opened his big mouth. It was painfully obvious that daimler was going to put it for sale sooner or later and they also had plenty of newspaper reports and of course posts on autoblogs and auto news sites like the one here on edmunds. So thank you dieter for basically rambling the same crap we have heard for months

Apparently this was quite a meeting, with angry share holders demanding they move along with the sale.
