Frost & Sullivan research service titled their study as "Strategic Analysis of the European Market for Transmission Technologies" examines the potential of alternative transmission technologies in the European market over the next six to seven years.
Even so the results are interesting if not illuminating. While the headline focuses on manual gearboxes, there is some revealing trend info here on other transmissions as well.
