Mitsubishi's hyper-performance sedan, the EVO X, was just announced over in the Land of the Rising Sun. What we see is not much of a surprise, as it matches the EVO concept pretty closely. In Japan it will be known as the Evolution X, whereas here in the USA the "X" aspect will be dropped. The car reportedly has an all-new AWD/handling system...
Looks like a battle royal between this and the new Subaru STI is just around the corner. Stay tuned. It should be fun.

I just hope they have a spoiler delete option. Everything else sounds great.

Eesh, the new Subaru WRX looks much better.

the mitsubishi motrs sign is in a odd spot but other than that the car looks good

desmo, my fellow Trojan, what you said there is definitely in the minority, but I totally agree with you (I'm obviously biased...just a little!)!
gmguy111, if I'm not mistaken, the other Lancer Evolutions in the U.S. market also have the front license plate offset to the side so the front-mount intercooler can have the maximum amount of airflow going to it.

Ach Suby, I now feel bad... I had tongue firmly in cheek! But it doesn't mean that the Suby is not going to be a better car. Bring on the comparison test!

Another case of a car designed for no front license plate.

True suby trojan but Its a little odd for it to be on the front fender flare don't you think but That will probably be moved to a diffrent part of the front when this car hits production

The dynamics of that front end are akin to opening your mouth while skydiving. It's the only aggressive part of this car too. I'll take an STI hatch FTW provided they give it some fenderflares and a new grill which will probably happen anyway.

This thing is miles better than the old model and the new WRX. For one thing, it looks like a complete package where the old one looked like the designers nailed a bunch of Pep-boys add-ons to it. Sure, the spoiler is still there, but even that seems to balance out the styling of the front end. As for comparisons to the WRX...Well, the WRX looks like a Toyota, and there's only one thing worse than being ugly: being boring. Nice job, Mitsu.

Hopefully they'll offer options like the pedal-less manual and deleting the rear wing. Though frankly, the front's ugleeee.

I like it, looks good.
Plus you can choose between sedan (EVO) or 5 door (STI).
I remember the EVO and STI launch last time around. Mitsu launched the EVO at the LA Auto Show, with a 5 speed manual. A week later, the STi (lower-case i at the time) debuted in Detroit and totally one-upped Mitubishi with 300hp and a 6 speed. Mitsu had to come out with a few special editions to try to keep up.
I don't think they'll make the same mistake again.
