why would I not be surprised to see that happen? Isuzu doesn't have anything but rebadged GM trucks anyway.

I have heard they there developing a full-size truck with GM. I saw it on autoblog or somewhere like that.

2 years ago they handed out Director's Chairs to all media just to get them to attend their press release, introducing the i280 and i350.
They'd need an even bigger bribe to get anyone to come now.
Maybe I should sell my chair, a piece of Isuzu history? LOL

Why are they even here, save for legacy reasons? There's been nothing interesting from them for years.

I saw an Isuzu truck the other day, the Hombre (rebadged S-10). Later that same day, I saw an I-280! It was a record number for Isuzu passenger vehicles, two!!!

I thought Isuzu still had a market in the industrial side of things. I also thought they were heavy into making diesel engines. I thought I read somewhere on this website that Toyota bought a stake in Isuzu for the purpose of benefitting from their greater knowledge of diesel drivetrains.
Maybe Isuzu is getting out of the passenger vehicle market, but I suspect they'll still play a role in the idustry. If nothing else, Toyota will use them for diesel engine designs in their ever expanding line up.

Despite all these, Isuzu still maintains that all their vehicles would still continue to bear the company's tradition. This would be their goal to offer the automobile market with vehicles that possess characteristics like Isuzu Cold Air Intake durability, warranty protection, ruggedness, as well as value for their money.

My original post was lost for some reason. Here is the point I would make:
Isuzu is a global Fortune 500 company. It is the one of the largest makers of commercial trucks in the world (most recent years it has been the largest), and the world's leading manufacturer of diesel engines. In the US, 80% of all cab-over medium duty trucks are Isuzus. American Isuzu Motors is profitable. The strength of commercial/powertrain sales provides funds to bear low volume sales in their Truck &SUV division, and sustain a rebuilding period. Right now Isuzu is actually adding dealerships.
People have been predicting their demise for five years. All have missed the mark. To date, I have only seen one publication call themselves out on it when time proved them wrong.
And, as far as those Isuzu chairs go, Honda used the same giveaway at their press conference in Detroit announcing the Element a few years earlier. Such enticements are common to all car companies large and small. Their necessity says less about the automakers, and more about the automotive press.

Whew! Maybe the Isuzu company are making the best for next year. Maybe a new model or upgraded auto parts. We have to wait... we don't know maybe they'll going to surprise us!
