2007 New York Auto Show: 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series

Mercedes went with the ol' Mission Impossible theme for this year's press conference at the 2007 New York Auto Show. It had sizzling fuses, explosions and showers of sparks, and there was even a car there too. It's called the 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series and it's only a light bar and a few stickers removed from the official Formula 1 Safety Car. We've never been big fans of the CLK's styling, but we'll admit to liking this AMG version. Never underestimate the power of some carbon-fiber wheel flares and the right wheels and tires. — Ed Hellwig, Senior Editor

This is a good reason why in-season DTM coverage needs to be brought back to the NASCAR, I mean SPEED, channel!

Hey Mercedes, while you're at it, can we have the reguler CLK63 coupe, too?

Man.. I can't help but think that this thing would look really good with a huge wing on the back.

I think I'm gonna install that kind of flare in my garage. Ya know, everytime I open the garage door, a series of flames and ticker tape spout up as I drive to work. I wonder if I need a permit for that...
