Qtire has retractable studs



The Qtire sounds like just the ticket for winter driving as it has retractable studs. The studs extend and retract via an air bladder. The only downside that I know of is that after about 50 bladder inflation/deflations, it needs to have some air put back in.

If you could control the air bladder from the driver's seat, I'd say wonderful. It's still an effective way to extend the longivity of the tires.

Cool idea. I see some serious off-road benefits, too, if the same idea could be applied to A/T tires.
