2007 Geneva Auto Show: Jetta wagon headed our way

Volkswagen once again flew under the radar at the 2007 Geneva Auto Show by unveiling what we'll eventually come to know as the Jetta wagon. In Eurospeak it's whimsically named the Golf Variant, but even that wasn't enough to make anybody notice. It goes on sale in Europe this summer which means we'll probably see it sometime late this year or in early 2008. Then again, given Volkswagen's track record as of late, you might not want to get your hopes up for another couple of years or so.—Ed Hellwig, Senior Editor

I would not expect to see it in the US until winter 2009 at the earliest.

I hope they send the diesels with it too!! I'll remember to stare at the front in the mirror and look elsewhere when it passes...

Rear end looks saggy, kinda sad.

And why the wide D-pillar? Blind spot.

I, too, hope for diesels.

I think the back end looks very much like the MB C-class wagon...

For the money VW has the best "percieved" quality as the fit and finish are in a class of their own. But we all see the truth when you scratch the surface.

The rear on this car looks to be lifted from a Saab 9-5 wagon.....strange but true.
