Tom Hanks all charged up about new eBox

Tom Hanks, like a number of Hollywooders, is a big fan of alternate-powered vehicles—specifically electric-powered cars. Hanks, who also owns an electric-powered RAV4, just took delivery of an eBox, which is essentially an electric-powered Scion xB. The eBox is made by AC propulsion.

Said Hanks: "What AC Propulsion is doing is fantastic...
I drove their tzero electric sports car a few years ago, so when they put the same technology in a four-door I wanted one for myself. It has double the range, goes fast, uses Li Ion batteries, and is incredibly roomy and comfortable. Oh, and I will also never have to put any gasoline into it!"

Full story here.

AC Propulsion converts Scion xBs, which the customer supplies. The conversion costs an additional $55K. Pretty pricey to say the least, but probably chump change for the likes of Hanks. More info on the eBox can be found here.

So that's a grand total of $70 grand when you include the cost of the car. Yikes!
