The 4-door Porsche Panamera was caught by Wheels24 , an automotive site from South Africa. The vehicle is scheduled to make its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2009. It will go head-to-head with the Aston Martin Rapide and Mercedes CLS 4-door coupes.

Note the C-pillar is very cleverly disguised. You can see the door line cut well behind that "mask".
And that's a good thing, but the disguise makes that C-pillar look blocky and fat.

That car is massive. Blech.

thats a pudgy prosche but other than that note it looks nice. While we can't see much of anything under the mask but form what i can see it goes out of typical porsche character when it comes to its length and especially width. Many people will probably say what about the cayenne thats big too? Well the cayenne is a SUV and it has the performance to make up for its questionable looks. As for this well, I'll have to wait until this thing is fully unmasked but until then it looks too bulbous for my tastes

Does anybody else see elements of the Lexus GS in this?

Though i am a fan of lexus GS and loved the Aston Martin Rapide...I dispise this car. I see it as an interuption in the 2 door history that Porsche has established. I think they are doing it to confrom to the other brands that offer a car in the market of 4 door sports cars...Bad Idea!

The Rapide blows every sedan away, no comparison.

Well, let's see..
Porsche still needs:
1. A full sized truck
2. A compact truck
3. An economy compact hatchback / sedan
I mean, if Porsche really believes they should be "stretching" their brand in new directions, might as well go whole hog.
BTW, this thing is pure ugly, regardless of what kind of performance it eventually returns. The same is true of the Cayenne (I admit it's fast- that's about it though). Guess if I could afford (and bought) a Porsche, it'd be a 944 / 911 something-or-other model, and I'd be among the mass of owners booing Porsche's more recent non-supercar model direction..

Well, I figure if they're going to make a 4door at least they've stretched it enough to make those rear seats potentially comfortable. I think of this car as the descendant to the 928. It looks like under that masking is a 928esque rear and a 911-like C pillar. It's the front that I actually see as the problem. It doesn't look dynamic enough. I'm sure the spoiler will be different than what we've seen.
