Mercedes-Benz Unimog 2007 Cross-Country Vehicle of the Year



The Mercedes-Benz Unimog won the "2007 Cross-Country Vehicle of the Year" award from the German Off Road magazine. I doubt that anyone familiar with the "Mog" would disagree with this. This is the third year (that's all?) the Unimog has won this award.

Interesting, everyone whines about the giant American pickups but nobody said a word about these enormous, noisy, expensive beasts.

Unimogs aren't used family car substitute, or cowboy Cadillacs, like many American pickups.
 
These are 100% commercial-grade work vehicles. In fact Mercedes often uses the term "agricultural" when describing Unimogs. So perhaps a comparison with a John Deere would be more appropriate. :)

My brother just picked up one that looks just like the yellow one. You need a commercial license to drive it in CA.
