2007 Geneva Auto Show: Fiat Grande Punto Abarth S2000





Good to see the Abarth name in the headlines again, as it's been missing all too long.

Fiat will be showing the production Grand Punto Abarth at the Geneva Motor Show. It will have a 1.5L, 150 hp turbocharged engine, with an even hotter 180 hp version to come later. The 4WD S2000, aka the "Scorpion" and pictured above, is the rally-ready race version featuring a 270 hp 2.0L engine...

Honda may not like the S2000 label too much.

I love rally cars. I especially like the European approach to rally: short, squat, and furiously powerful.

The standard Grande Punto is a pretty nice car. Even in rental spec.
 
Sigh... I wish whomever gets Chrysler thinks about licensing or badging Grande Punto or new Bravo cars and importing them here to North America.
