2007 Chicago Auto Show: 2008 Saturn Vue Red Line

The debut of the 2008 Saturn Vue Red Line isn't the biggest news at the Chicago show, but nonetheless, the restyled Red Line deserves its 15 seconds of blog fame.

Available this fall in front-wheel- or all-wheel-drive configurations, the Vue Red Line gets a 250-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 with a six-speed automatic transmission, a lowered-, sport-tuned suspension and 18-inch alloy wheels.

A large front airdam, rear spoiler and chrome-tipped exhaust pipes help the Red Line stand apart from the standard Vue. â€” Kelly Toepke, Manager of Vehicle Testing

I wonder if this means no more Honda engines for GM?

The last saturn VUE had the 3.5lv6. That was honda's engine.

The rear looks like a murano, cx-7, and cadillac cts. Its uniquely saturn., I like it!

Nicely done Saturn. And it definitely means no more Honda engines, at least from the previous deal that got the 3.5's into the last-gen Vue. It's no biggie though, when you consider that the 3.6l is GM's best V6, period, and loses nothing to that Honda mill.

Looks good, and that engine is peppy in the Outlook, so I can imagine how fun this thing will be.

It does look smaller than the outgoing one, though, at least the cargo area is less boxy.

I like GM's design direction with Saturn. I'd want to drive this over a RAV-4 or a CRV and the Nissan Rogue doesn't do anything for me either.

It is smaller than the outgoing Vue. Actaully I think quite a bit smaller. Rather than redesign the Vue which would have undoubtably been made larger, they came out with the Outlook....

Well, the Outlook is *quite* a bit larger than the outgoing Vue was, so even maintaining the size of the old Vue wouldn't have been a problem. Theoretically there's a gap between the two new vehicles that they *could* choose to fill at some time in the future, if sales of these types of vehicles continue to accelerate. For now a true compact and a true larger mid-size are good choices.

This is completely unrelated, but is Saturn's new slogan: "Like always. Like never before." ?

I don't think i like how they are just copying the opel modles from europe! the styling is great but they need alittle bit of diffrence..aside from the markings
