2007 Chicago Auto Show: 2007 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Ron Fellows ALMS GT1 Championship

Ron Fellows has won the 24 Hours of Le Mans, owns a silver Corvette Z06 and is the only man to ever have a special edition Corvette with his name on it. Nice life. This is the 2007 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Ron Fellows ALMS GT1 Championship and the man up there on the turntable leaning against it is Corvette racecar driver Ron Fellows.

"Obviously, this is a huge honor," Fellows told us in the GM booth at the Chicago auto show...

"But this car is really in honor of the entire Corvette Racing Team, I just happen to be one of the drivers." And so the guy's humble, too.

Fellows, a Canadian, started racing for GM behind the wheel of a Chevy Camaro in the Trans Am series and has been with the Corvette program since its inception back in November 1997. The team won Le Mans in 2001 and six consecutive manufacturer titles in the American Le Mans series. The Corvette Z06 Ron Fellows ALMS GT1 Championship displayed at the Chicago auto show is the first of 399 that will be built, and it's already got Fellow's name on the registration.

Like we said, nice life.  Scott Oldham, Editor in Chief, Inside Line
