We all know the military is using unmanned aircraft, but would you trust a robotic garage to park your car? Well, if you live in NY's Chinatown, you just may find yourself in just that situation when you go to park your car, because as of February, there will be just such a parking garage there. Japan already has these. It's a clever way of using space (and in Tokyo, space is very expensive), but I imagine the overhead costs for this oversized jukebox is pretty hefty.

I've seen such garages in Germany and Japan.
It's hard to believe it's cost effective, but if they can cram cars in a small enough space, I guess the business model can work.
I believe the cars are never driven, i.e. it's the platform that moves. So there is virtually zero chance of any damage. That might offset the cost and complexity of building such a garage.
