The only bummer here is that you have to subscribe to MSN Direct, as both devices will use Microsoft Corp.'s MSN Direct wireless network to supply the live data. The service will be free for a year and cost $49.95 a year thereafter...
These new GPS units will be introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show, which kicks off Monday in Las Vegas.

I remeber their christmas commercial it was so stupid yet the jingle was pretty catchy. However Tom tom will have the advantage because its been on the market longer and it has had more time to establish a customer basethan garmin. i think garmin could provide a formidable challenge to Tom Tom but we'll have to wait and see

My husband and I purchased the Garmin c330 Streetpilot for his dad for Christmas. He loves it! The real-time traffic option on the upper model is cool, but IMO the $50 yearly subscription is too much. Perhaps if you're occupation requires daily travel in unfamiliar territory, but for the occasional road trip? Nope, don't think so.

We had a discussion a couple months ago about how OEM sat/navi systems compared with aftermarket units. Obviously someone was listening. There's not much OEM units offer over the aftermarket anymore.
