Okay, before someone tells me this story is 6 month old—I know that. Still, for those uninformed it's pretty funny. It turns out that Honda apparently misprinted a toll-free number in the owner's manual of a number of Acura and Honda cars, and when that number is called a sultry voice says: "just 99 cents per minute"… Well, you get the picture. The affected manuals were printed between August 2006 and July 2006...
Sort of gives new meaning to the phrase: "You meet the nicest people on a Honda."

Well that explains why so many people like customer service and why it has a good reputation.

"Yes, I need to come in for a lube. You have a special on those today? Excellent! 99 cents a minute? Don't you guys usually charge by the hour? Oh, you aren't one of those types of service departments, I see. Do I like it dirty? Um, no, I try to keep everything clean. Oh, I've been having some steering problems, can you work out my alignment? $20!? Seriously? Yeah, go ahead and put me down for that."

That happened to me in a Volvo C70 convertible that I rented a while back. With 40 miles on the clock (total) it just quit running. I tried to call the 1-800 number in the owner's manual and also got a sex line. My g/f thought I was messing with her, so I had her dial it. Same thing. After about half an hour of sitting there in the Santa Monica mountains, the car suddenly started up and we drove it back to the rental to exchange for a different vehicle.
