FV Report: 2008 Mini Clubman spied again

It's not like we haven't seen the 2008 Mini Clubman numerous times already, but these latest spy photos are some of the clearest shots yet of the upcoming three-door. That's right, three-door as this new model from Mini will have an additional access door on the passenger side. It will also have a set of barn doors out back for easier access to the enlarged cargo area. According to Motoringfile , the Clubman will make its official debut at the 2007 Frankfurt auto show in September with U.S. sales beginning in early 2008.

I don't see that 3rd door offering much access.

It's probably just designed to make access to the rear easier when the front passenger seat is folder forward.

I think it makes a cool little wagon. I was hopeing for the van rear doors like the original had though.

Yeah, that door doesn't seem real useful. Bummer as we're talking about starting a family in 09 and I was hoping to go the mini route instead of the GTI. Looks like if one wants 4 doors, wagon, small, could interior space and power/luxury the A3/GTI will be the only real game in town still. :(

I like it. Its different from the mini. But not too different. I dont think mini want to get into the mini van business.

I am a Mini Cooper S owner, and you would be surprised at how much room those little suicide doors would provide. I have a family of 4 and we fit just fine in the current Mini, so with these new doors MINI is making my life easier.

no extra door on driver's side is not a good move. what's the point then? saturn tried this and ended up putting one on both sides. mazda got it right with the rx-8 the first time. bmw must be waiting to make a profit on the 3-door, then bump up to 4. too bad for those who can't wait and have a small family.

i think it looks great, and most (notice i said most not all as some posters clearly have small families and still own mini's) small families wont be looking into mini's anyway. We can deal with one door. Mini is nothing like saturn so its a moot point.

this car is going to be awesome!
