Detroit Auto Show: NHTSA to revise car crash testing

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is planning to announce at the Detroit show plans to revise future car crash testing, as there has been mounting criticism that the current testing standards are too weak.

Adrian Lund, president of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, said, "They need to do something that will accelerate vehicle design improvements," Lund said. "If everyone gets four or five stars, that's not useful."
